the suit looks smaller and more "movable" than the old
the gauss rifle seems to be a bit Quake-y though, not that i'm complaining - it actually looks better suited for space combat than the old design (still looks too large to be firing 8mm ammunition though)
SC2 marines' exosuits looks more flexible than the old CS.
You can clearly see the hatch where they put their stim packs in (the 2 circles on the chest plate)
and the exposed machinery that makes the suit work (like the actuators on the joints which boosts the wearer's strenght and speed).
Based on the trailer I've watched, The suit seems stuck to the body. Then how do they pee or poo? is it kinda hot in there or is there an air-conditioning system in there. Most Marines smoke right? then what happens to the smoke and ash when they close their helmets? is there an ash tray inside? Whats the purpose of those 2 jet rockets pointing up?
Change does make sense as the StarCraft Universe continues to move on, however I would hope to see Jim Raynor and his compadres still toting the good old fashioned armor. Somehow I can't see him in the larger, more advanced armor. In any case, in whatever cinematics they throw into the game, I hope they have both. It's nice to see the old with the new.
I imagine SC2 is gonna be several years down the storyline, so Raynor is probably gonna have his own battlecruiser by then
Picture him looking down the command deck and reminiscing about his old marine suit and how much he prefers it over the new upgraded ones.
That would make one cool nostalgic cinematic
Well, in comparison to what they 'were' going to do to cartoon the marines with Starcraft: Ghost, things could have been much worse. I loved the old 'Deep Sea Diver/Astronaut' style, but this new suit keeps the old suit at heart, with just handful of cool addition and changes.
