why not?
c'mon it's a widely used anti-aliased lossless format, make it animated!

interesting fact:
PNG is actually pronounced more like 'ping' rather than 'pee and gee'
...
and yes I google too much... hmm... that should be my next stamp...

JPEG is a horrid format. Unless you want an insanely large file, it ruins your image with it's compression.

Besides - a few of the MPEG formats are pretty much animated JPEGs with sound.

PNG is teh sex. :jackdirt:

I believe the format SVG, has taken all the goodness of PNG and added animation support as well. Im not 100% sure on that though.

Never the less, PNG rocks.

I'm not sure I've heard of SVG, I've heard a few tries on APNG and the failed-to-go-public MNG's, but yeah PNG r0x0rs m1 b0x0rs.

and that's the last time I tried typing l33t... promise :P

Jpeg has no life. :D There, I made fun of it. XD

JPG is good when you're having issues with disc-space, but it wastes too much of quality...
